His Call to the Nations

His Call to the Nations

 “. . . If I am lifted up . . . I will draw all people unto Me . . .” John 12:32

Randy and I led a team from one of our partners, Betenbough Homes, to Belgium and Greece. We taught a PI school, a PrayGround seminar and Randy guided us ‘In the Footsteps of Paul’ across Greece. God’s presence settled on us; in the laughter, the team’s humility, eating together, ministering, playing. But when we worshiped in raw simplicity He drew people close. People from the Czech Republic, the UK and India joined us in worship. Many others would gather and watch. An Asian hotel employee passed through the empty eating area transformed into our gathering place. Walking  past me, I noticed  her phone recording our worship. We were not ‘trying’ to influence people although that is always our mandate, we were gathering to worship with a simple guitar.

At one hotel in Greece while we were quietly worshiping in an open-air sitting area. In our quietness, a British man came and stood by me, asking to join. He was a bass player for a church in the UK and had heard our worship. Then, one of our young ladies stood and exhorted us to wake and worship with all our heart. We responded and a beautiful song arose. That evening a young woman from northern India approached a team member. She began to pour out her story.  She was working there, gathering finances to return home soon, and marry a young pastor. The previous night she was distraught. She prayed, fell asleep and dreamt. In the dream she sang a particular song. Upon awakening, she rushed to her balcony. The air was being filled with THAT song. She wept knowing God cared. She was able to see Kelsey, one of our worship leaders. She prayed to be able to tell Kelsey and voila, she did!

God is so good. He worked through the whole team, who basically did not know each other before this trip, to care for this young girl. He used the three worship leaders, the young lady that prodded us into heartfelt worship and the whole team, even the British guy, responding to His presence and singing louder. It was uncomplicated, raw worship.

God hugged His children who felt isolated, by others in His family just loving Him in worship. At the same time He was drawing those that don’t know Him, those standing on the outskirts closer to Himself. What a Father!
