We all matter

I speak with people everywhere with this simple message, “Don’t play it safe or live just for your own happiness. Live to touch your world.” The answer I so often hear and, the answer is “Who me?  But I can’t…“ Here is what I’ve learned over 36 years of walking with the Lord, ~ it’s not about what you can’t do, it’s about what you can do that matters.

As I write, it’s one of those, “Who me? Are you sure – me? Really?”  days. Everything within me wants to say, “Not me Lord. Choose someone else because I can’t . . . ” It’s not about what we can’t do, it’s about what we can do!

Paul spoke of this when he wrote, “No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work He does, the good work He has [prepared] for us to do…”

I’m not musical, nor wealthy, nor very relational, nor . . . and the list goes on (It’s really a long list!). But there are a few things I CAN do. I can pray; I can study the Bible and share what I learn in meaningful ways; I seem to be able to inspire people; I can give generously; I can stay away from our home for significant periods of time. When we do these things, the world around us changes. Our lives matter. We all matter!

Just think, PI has the opportunity to teach, minister and disciple in 20 different nations, so that 100s and 100s of workers, disciples, and laborers being trained to “Touch their world.” People will be saved; families will change; churches will grow; the Kingdom will come. We all matter.

What CAN YOU do? If you haven’t already, it’s time to leave the ‘I Can’t list’ behind. Those things no longer matter, because in His Kingdom, it’s about what we CAN do, not about what we can’t!  What CAN you do for your world? Can you ~ Pray a little bit longer? Give a little more generously? Encourage your co-worker? Sacrifice and show self-giving love? Volunteer in your Church? Turn your business to His Kingdom’s interest? Here’s the secret ~ do what you can and forget about what you can’t!

We all matter!
