You guys are incredible! The overwhelming response to this year’s Prepare International Pistol & Clays Competition and Banquet was literally out-of-this-world! We had more sponsorships and teams than last year which made a huge impact to our fundraising efforts.
This year’s focus was on our incredible opportunity to expand into very isolated regions of the world. Currently, the door is open for us to start schools in the Amazon region of Peru, the mountains of Kenya and the Himalayas of Nepal. With this great opportunity comes the challenge of actually traveling to these hard-to-reach areas. The $45,000 we raised between the competition and banquet will send us into these areas to expand our schools.
It was fun rubbing shoulders with dear friends, enjoying the competition and getting to know so many new friends! The atmosphere was electric at the pistol dueling tree competition and the clays were no different with only 1/2 a point between the 1st and 2nd place teams. The weather forecasted 80% chance of rain during our event, but we couldn’t have asked the Lord for better weather to trek to the stations for the clay competition.
Also a hearty thank you to all of our volunteers: our range officers, clay throwers, and registration team! There is no way we’d be as successful as we are without you guys. I’d like to give a special shout out to Clay and Heather Golden for the fantastic auctioneer finesse they provided. Not only did they help us raise more funds during the auction, but they kept the room entertained and engaged the entire time.
Finally, I want to give a special thanks to the Cornerstone/Betenbough team and to Earl and Crissy Haralson for working with us so closely to make the whole day a wonderful success. I cannot express enough how humbled, grateful and BLESSED we are to be on this journey with all of you.
